FESTIVALS AND CELEBRATIONS
Pongal
Pongal is celebrated every year in the month of January.Competitions like “Healthy Food,” “Pot Painting” and “Pulli Kollam” are conducted for parents. Traditional games are also conducted for teachers.
Recorded “Pongal” greetings video was sent to all pupils on 13th January 2022, through WhatsApp.



Republic Day
“Republic Day” is celebrated every year on 26th January in the school premises. Flags and sweets are distributed to all pupils. Pupils perform cultural programmes related to Republic Day.
Nutrition Day
“Nutrition Day” is celebrated every year. Pupils of Stds I – V perform various programmes on nutritious food.
Dr. Sathish, Child Specialist and Dr. Jenith Osborne, Medical Officer In-charge of PSG Rural Health Centre, Vedapatti, instruct the pupils on the importance of “Healthy and Hygienic Food.”

Mupperum Vizha (முப்பெரும் விழா)
“Mupperum Vizha” (Kamarajar Birthday, Kalvi Valarchi Naal and Tamil Literary Association Inauguration) is celebrated every year on 15th July. The pupils perform various cultural programmes. Prizes are distributed to winners.


Independence Day
“76th Independence Day” was celebrated on 15th August 2022 in the school premises. Flag was hoisted by Ms.C.Parimala, Headmistress of PSG High School, Vedapatti and Mr. K. Ravi, Headmaster of PSG Primary School, Vedapatti, welcomed the gathering and shared a short message about Independence Day.
Various sports activities & competitions were conducted for teachers and pupils of classes I to V. Winners were awarded with a medal and a certificate.

Teachers’ Day
“Teachers’ Day” is celebrated every year on 5th September. Games and recreational activities are conducted for teachers in the school premises.
Every year PSG & Sons’ Charities invite the retired teachers and honour them with gifts and dinner.
A teacher is selected every year for the “PSG Teacher of the Year Award” by the Management and is honoured with a Memento and cash award of Rs.10,000/-.

“Teachers’ Day” was celebrated in the school premises on 5th September 2022 with full zeal and enthusiasm. Teachers Day greetings were sent to all the retired teachers.
Various recreational games and activities were conducted for teachers.


Gandhi Jayanthi
“Gandhi Jayanthi” was celebrated on 2nd October 2022.
Saraswathi Pooja and Vijayadasami
“Saraswathi Pooja and Vijayadasami” were celebrated on 5th October 2022.

Children’s Day
“Children’s Day” is celebrated every year on 14th November. “ Colours’ Day” and some other events are also celebrated on that day.


“Children’s Day” was celebrated on 14th November 2022. Many programmes were conducted for the teachers, parents and pupils. Programmes like songs, speech, poetry, drama, food without flame, vegetable carving were performed by teachers and uploaded in You tube.

Bharathiyar’s Birthday
“Bharathiyar’s Birthday” is celebrated every year on 11th of December. Various programmes are performed by the pupils.
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s Birthday
Former President, “Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s Birthday” is celebrated every year on 15th October.
